Configuring Windows ME

1. Go to Start, Settings, and select Dial-up Networking.

2. Double click on Make a New Connection.

3. Change the name to eclecTechs.

4. Click Next.

5. Put in one of our 56K access numbers including the area code, then press Next.

6. Click Finish.

7. Right click on the eclecTechs icon and select Properties.

8. In the General tab, uncheck Use Area Code and Dialing Properties.

9. Click on the Networking tab.

10. Make sure PPP,Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME is selected.

11. Make sure Enable Software Compression and TCP/IP are checked off as well.

12. Click on the Security tab.

13. Enter your username (make sure it is your full e-mail address. ex: username@valinet.com, username@westmass.com or username@noho.com).

14. Enter your password.

15. Make sure nothing is checked in the Advanced Security Options.

16. Click on the Dialing tab.

17. Check off, This is the Default Internet Connection.

18. Check off, Dial Whenever a Network Connection is Not Present.

19. Click OK.

20. Close out of Dial-up Networking.

21. Your dial-up connection is all set, you will now need to setup your e-mail.

22. Go to e-mail setup.

23. Once you have setup your e-mail, you can connect by double clicking on Internet Explorer, or Netscape.
