Configuring Outlook Express To Filter Internal Message
Every time you log into our new webmail, the server automatically
generates a message that may confuse certain POP mail clients. Below are the
instructions to enable Microsoft Outlook Express to properly ignore this
message. Users of Outlook and Eudora can use these instructions as a
guide to setting up their filters. Note that Mozilla
Thunderbird is automatically pre-configured to ignore this
message.
- Open Outlook Express.
- Go to Tools and select Message Rules then Mail.
- If you already have some message rules set up, click New. Otherwise,
ignore this step.
- In the first box, check "Where the subject line contains specific
words".
- In the bottom box, click the link "contains specific words".
- Type in exactly: DON'T DELETE THIS MESSAGE -- FOLDER INTERNAL DATA
- Click Add. Click OK.
- In the second box, scroll down and check "Delete It"
- You may name the rule anything you want. Filter Internal Message is
perfectly appropriate.
- Click OK. Click OK again.
- Outlook Express will no longer download that message from the server.
