Checking Your Disk Usage

1. Connect to eclecTechs

2. You also must have an SSH program and have it configured for eclecTechs. You can find instructions on how to do this at: PC Users and Mac Users.

3. Once you have installed and configured the SSH program, open a session for valinet.com

4. You will be prompted to login. Type in your username, but don't put the @valinet.com, @westmass.com, or @noho.com after it. Then Press enter.

5. Type in your password and press enter.

6. At the prompt, type in the following: du -s (there is a space between the u and the -), then press enter.

7. It will then display the amount of space you are using in Kilobytes. There are 1024 kilobytes in 1 megabyte (MB), so if you have more than 10240 kilobytes, you are over the 10 MB that comes with your account; and will be charged accordingly, each additional MB is $1 per month.

8. To logout, just type in exit and then hit return.
